Realme Buds T200 Are Coming July 24 — Entry-Level? Maybe, But Don’t Dismiss Them Yet

Realme is once again gearing up to flood the audio market, this time with a new pair of truly wireless earbuds called the Buds T200. The company dropped the announcement today, slating the official launch for July 24, where they’ll share the stage with the new Realme 15 smartphone series. It feels like we get a new pair of budget-friendly earbuds every other week, but Realme is hoping to cut through the noise—both literally and figuratively.
Can Budget Buds Really Be This Good?
On paper, the Realme Buds T200 look like they’re punching well above their “entry-level” weight class. The headline feature is, without a doubt, active noise cancellation. Realme is making a rather bold claim of canceling up to 32dB of ambient noise. We’ve seen impressive-sounding numbers like this before on budget gear, and I have to say, the real-world results can be a mixed bag. Still, any meaningful ANC at what we expect to be a low price point is a welcome sight.
What really caught my eye, though, was the audio spec sheet. The earbuds are packing 12.4mm dynamic drivers, which is quite large for this form factor and could, perhaps, deliver some solid bass. More importantly, they’ve included support for the LDAC codec and a Hi-Res Wireless audio certification.
This is the kind of feature you typically had to pay a premium for not too long ago. Finding it on a pair of buds that will likely be positioned as an affordable accessory to their new phone is… interesting. It makes you wonder where the corners were cut.
The Little Things That Matter
Beyond the main audio specs, Realme is ticking a lot of the modern quality-of-life boxes. You’re getting 3D Spatial Audio, which is fun but often hit-or-miss depending on the source material. More practically, there’s dual-device connection, a feature I find indispensable for switching between my laptop and phone. They also claim to have a quad-mic array with AI-powered noise cancellation for calls, another one of those features that we’ll just have to test to believe.
Battery life seems respectable, if not record-breaking. Realme claims up to 8 hours of playback with ANC on (using the standard AAC codec). That number drops to a more modest 4.5 hours if you’re taking advantage of the higher-quality LDAC codec, which is to be expected. There’s also a fast-charging feature that supposedly gets you 5 hours of playback from a quick 10-minute charge. That’s probably with ANC off, but it’s a great spec for those moments you realize your buds are dead right before a commute.
Of course, the biggest piece of the puzzle is still missing: the price. Realme is holding that, along with final availability details, for the July 24 launch event. In the end, the success of the Buds T200 will hinge entirely on that number. If they can deliver these features at a truly aggressive price, they might just have a winner on their hands. We’ll be watching.
