WaterField Launches Shinjuku Crossbody With Quick-Release Strap and iPad Mini Storage

Tech-savvy travelers know the joys of a compact electronics bag is the best way to go from place to place while ensuring your important gear is secure.

Waterfield knows this, too, and have a ton of great travel and EDC (everyday carry) bags to secure your stuff. Today, the San Fransisco company announced another stylish travel tech bag, the $159 Shinjuku Crossbody.

It’s an expanded version of it’s popular Shinjuku Sling and it’s got a padded pocket that fits a bigger device like the iPad Mini or other smaller tablet. It’s fitted with a paragliding-style buckle to strap it on without having to take it over your head (or even secure it to a chair when seated).

You can see in the video that the Shinjuki Crossbody has plenty of space for your tablet, notebooks, smartphones, earbuds, and all those charging cords you have to carry around with you to power today’s demanding gadgets.

This larger EDC comes in two materials: an X-11 XPac canvas (which is abrasion- and water-resistant, or the company’s familiar waxed canvas style. They both match with full-grain leather for a classy look and feel. There are two stretch-mesh pockets inside next to the padded tablet spot, and a securely zippered rear pocket for wallets, passports, or other critical documents. The interior is covered in Waterfield’s own gold diamond pattern liner, and the zippers are YKK waterproof to keep your stuff dry.

I have a few Waterfield bags here at home, and I love finding the perfect one to fit my activities. This Shinjuki Crossbody looks like the perfect medium between a hip bag-style smaller tech bag and a larger crossbody that fits my laptop and other gear. I love the idea of having a compact but capacious bag with the gorgeous wax canvas and leather styling of the Waterfield line of products.

Better yet, if you order one between now and May 25, you’ll get a free $25 Bottle Opener Key Ring, too.
