MediaTek has launched a new processor called the Dimensity 9400e. It belongs to the company’s flagship Dimensity family but sits below the top-end Dimensity 9400 and 9400+. The 9400e is a slightly updated version of last year’s Dimensity 9300+. It shares almost the same parts, with only a few key changes. The Realme GT 7 will debut with this chip.
Realme GT 7 gets it first
In fact, Realme will be one of the first brands to use this new chip. The Realme GT 7 global version will launch with the Dimensity 9400e on May 27. The company says it offers stable 120fps gameplay in over 20 top games, thanks to a feature called GT Boost. This works by adjusting power use on the fly, aiming to keep both speed and efficiency high.
The GT 7 also has a large 7,000mAh battery and supports fast 120W charging. Its new IceSense back cover, made of fiberglass and graphene, helps keep the phone cool—up to 6°C cooler according to Realme.
Realme claims the 9400e can score over 2.25 million on AnTuTu, putting it among the top three Android chips. One promo claimed 2.45 million, but it’s likely a high score under special conditions.

The chip uses MediaTek’s “All Big Core” layout. This means it has 1 Cortex-X4 core at 3.4GHz, 3 Cortex-X4 cores at 2.85GHz, and 4 Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0GHz. It also has 8MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system-level cache. Like the 9300+, the GPU is a 12-core Immortalis-G720 MC12 with ray-tracing support. However, the memory speed has been lowered slightly to 8533MHz LPDDR5X, down from 9600MHz. Storage support includes UFS 4.0 with MCQ.
The Dimensity 9400e improves on wireless features. It now offers a faster 7.3Gbps peak Wi-Fi speed and updated Bluetooth 6.0, which MediaTek claims can reach up to 5km in line of sight. The chip also supports the latest version of the NeuroPilot SDK, allowing it to run AI tasks across speech, images, and text. This includes support for large language models and vision models.
MediaTek has added gaming tools to the 9400e. Alongside HyperEngine and Adaptive Gaming, which boost performance and save power, there’s a new feature called Frame Rate Converter. This tool helps lower power use—MediaTek says it can cut it by 40%—though exact details were not given.
