Netflix just announced a new homepage design for its popular streaming service, with an eye to making it easier to find content to watch.
Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim and Chief Technology Officer Elizabeth Stone revealed the new TV experience at a live product event Wednesday. The experience focuses on easier ways to discover great shows and movies, more visible shortcuts, better recommendations, and a cleaner, more modern design.
“The new Netflix TV experience is still the one you know and love — just better,” said Kim.
At the event (and in the video above), Kim noted that they’ve been working on changes and updates “behind the scenes.” The new home page looks a lot like Apple TV, with a navigational window across the top and a huge area for a featured show or movie right underneath. In addition to tabs for Home, Shows, Movies, and Games, the company has added a My Netflix shortcut to the top menu, which includes your saved list of content, reminders you may have set, and a section called Continue Watching.
There’ll be a ton of new tags to help you decide what you might like, with icons and text saying things like “Recently Added,” or “#1 in Movies,” or “We think you’ll love this” placed right over the top of the video preview.
You’ll also be able to get to the top menu easily, with a simple click to the “Back” button on your remote.
The mobile app gets new stuff, too, including a new Generative AI search function, which is now only a small opt-in beta. The idea is that you can search for shows and movies using more natural, conversational language. Netflix provides one example: “I want something funny and upbeat.”
We hear these vertical video things are all the rage.

If browsing for content is more your style, there’ll be a new vertical video feed (like TikTok or Reels) with clips of Netflix shows and movies that you’ll be able to tap and watch the show or movie right there, or you can add it to My List. You can also, of course, share with friends from the feed as well.
