One UI 7’s Surprise Expansion: A Rollercoaster of Emotions

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 7 to several Galaxy devices. While the update was delayed, its fast rollout in recent weeks has helped ease user frustration.

A Fresh Look That Users Love

One UI 7 brings a big visual update. It has new app icons, smoother animations, and more ways to customize your phone. Many Galaxy users say this version feels cleaner and faster than past updates.

For many, One UI 7 is the best software Samsung has ever released.

A Rocky Start Left Users Waiting

Samsung didn’t share much about One UI 7 during its 2024 developer event. That was the first letdown. Then, instead of launching the beta right away, it was pushed to December 2024.

Even then, only the Galaxy S24 series got access to the beta through March 2025. Other users were left waiting, with no idea when the final version would arrive.

In mid-March, Samsung finally announced that the stable update would start rolling out in early April.

Problems on Launch Day

Samsung released One UI 7 on April 7 in Korea. But just two days later, it paused the update due to bugs and issues. The media called it one of Samsung’s most troubled rollouts ever.

Thankfully, Samsung fixed the problems quickly. By the end of April, the update resumed for the Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6 models.

Things Picked Up Fast

Last week, Samsung pushed the stable version to Galaxy S23 users worldwide. Just days later, the S22 and S21 series joined in.

Even Samsung’s foldables like Fold 5, Flip 5, Fold 4, and Flip 4, along with the Tab S8, got the update in Korea. All of this happened within one week.

Final Thoughts

One UI 7’s rollout started off slow and frustrating. But the recent speed and wide device support have turned things around. Samsung could have handled it better, but for now, users are finally getting what they waited for.
