Qualcomm is set to introduce its new flagship mobile processor — the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Reports in the last few days suggest that the official launch of the new chip will be at the end of September. Phones with this high-end processor will be available in October.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Launching Soon with Significant Upgrades
The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 brings tremendous improvement over last year’s model. Among its notable features is the increased CPU speed, which now reaches a whopping 4.4GHz. In addition, Qualcomm has redesigned the processor with a new second-generation custom CPU architecture. The improvement aims to provide faster performance for day-to-day tasks as well as heavy applications.
Graphics are also receiving a significant boost. The GPU cache has been expanded, from 12MB to 16MB. This alteration should boost graphics performance by around 30%. This kind of development is certainly good news for gamers and anybody who appreciates good visuals.
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Promises Faster Speeds and Better Battery Life
It is using TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process manufacturing. Thanks to this newest production process, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will offer 4% better performance and 9% less power consumption than the previous one. This means that your phone can be faster and last longer on a single charge.
Several phone manufacturers are lined up to incorporate the new chip in their phones. Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro will be the first phones to incorporate this innovation. Some of the other future phones likely to incorporate the 8 Elite 2 are the Redmi K90 Pro, Realme GT 8 Pro, OnePlus 14, iQOO 14, Xiaomi 16 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra, and the Oppo Find X9 Ultra.
