Airbnb to Display Price Including Cleaning Fees on Listings by Default—Is Tax Still Excluded?

You no longer have to worry about being surprised by the total price of your next Airbnb stay as the recent change on the platform now shows the price of a listing, cleaning fees included.

Airbnb to Display Full Total Price Including Fees

In a new update from Airbnb, guests worldwide will now get to see a more direct total price of the listing they find on the app so that they will no longer be surprised with the full price upon confirming their booking.

Before this, the app only displays the price of the property they are renting but excludes other fees like the Airbnb fees, cleaning fees, and more, which add to the starting price of a listing.

Previously, Airbnb allowed guests to toggle on and off the full price display on the app to get an idea of how much their entire cost would be to rent a place.

With this new feature, the total price will be transparent by default and will no longer appear only after hitting the reservation button, and this will give users an idea if the listing is affordable and matches their budget.

Tax Is Still Excluded From Airbnb’s Total Price

According to Airbnb, while all of the fees are already included in the total price of these listings, this will still exclude taxes.

This means that the price found on the app or website when searching for a potential stay would still be subject to local taxes.

Airbnb and Its Features

For many years, Airbnb has been the go-to app for travelers within their regions or overseas, and the experience has been rewarding for many. Over the years, it gave the public certain features like the ability to get the smart lock codes directly on the app so that they could easily enter the property once they are already eligible to check in.

Additionally, users may also enjoy a Group Booking feature, which allows a certain individual to book a stay for all guests and include them in the guest list, as well as creating a trip wish list that is accessible to all members.

Moreover, the app has also provided AI-powered messages that allow owners to send short replies to address quick questions and other FAQs regarding their properties.

In the previous updates, Airbnb has also given users a list of “Most Loved” properties on the app as well. Airbnb has continued to offer improvements to the booking experience, including the addition of co-host, which can help owners manage their listings.
