After months of speculation, Samsung finally revealed the date for its Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. The world will know the Samsung Galaxy S25 series on January 22. During the past months, rumors and leaks have confirmed the existence of a new fourth member for the Galaxy S series dubbed Galaxy S25 Slim. Even the poster for the Unpacked event teased four smartphones. For that reason, we have been expecting the lineup to bring four flagships this time, including the Galaxy S25 Slim. However, a new rumor pushes the Slim’s launch to May.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim to Skip January’s Unpacked
The new rumor emerged today from China and states that those waiting for the sleekier variant must wait until later this year. The new leak comes from the tipster Setsuna Digital and postpones the release of the new flagship to May. We need to treat this as mere rumors. Samsung didn’t confirm four smartphones yet, but it also didn’t deny it. Until more concrete evidence emerges, we can’t confirm or deny the phone’s arrival. This is not the first time we hear about Samsung delaying the Slim variant though.

The new Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will be just 6.5mm thin but will still be a big smartphone. According to the rumors, the phone will be set between the Ultra and variants in terms of footprint. It will have a 6.6-inch AMOLED screen with over 1080 pixels of resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Due to its slim profile, it might be embracing the new technology of silicon-carbon batteries. It allows companies to fit more capacity even on a smaller battery footprint. Hopefully, the S25 Slim battery will be around 4,500 to 5,000 mAh.
As per the rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim is coming to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air. The new iPhone has basically the same principle of offering flagship specifications on a slimmer body. This one is also rumored to come during the first months of 2025.
