Xiaomi is almost ready to release HyperOS 3, and it’s shaping up to be one of the biggest software updates the company has rolled out in years. The update is based on Android 16, and it’s expected to go live sometime in September 2025. If you’re using one of Xiaomi’s newer phones, especially a flagship, you’re likely to be among the first to try it out.
These Xiaomi Phones Will Get HyperOS 3 First
Xiaomi has confirmed that its flagship devices will be first in line when HyperOS 3 drops. Here’s the current list of phones expected to receive the update right away:
- Xiaomi 15
- Xiaomi 15 Pro
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra
- Xiaomi 15T Pro
- Xiaomi 14T Pro
For those who are into gaming, Xiaomi hasn’t left you out either. The update will also roll out early to:
- Redmi K70 Ultra
- Redmi K80 Ultra
And for the folks waiting for Xiaomi’s upcoming phones, both the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro will ship with HyperOS 3 already installed.
What’s New in HyperOS 3?
As a new major update, we all expect to see a full refresh of the operating system. HyperOS 3 promises enhancements in areas such as animations, performance and of course, a more polished interface. Xiaomi has also dedicated a lot of time to system stability and a snappier user interface. This will address most lagging and slowdown issues faced by some users.
Some key features include:
- A revamped animation system that feels more fluid
- Tweaked performance settings to keep things running smoothly
- A cleaner look across menus and apps
- Better integration across Xiaomi devices like tablets, watches, and even TVs
