Meizu 22 Teased with World’s Thinnest White Bezel, Compact Design Revealed

Meizuis back in the spotlight—and it’s aiming for a design record. The company has officially teased its upcoming flagship, the Meizu 22, and the first images confirm something bold: the world’s narrowest symmetrical white bezel. That’s not just marketing fluff—if the numbers hold, the bezels on all four sides will measure just 1.2mm.
A White-Front Flagship? That’s a First
What really makes this stand out isn’t just the slim bezels. It’s the color. Most phones ditch white fronts altogether, especially when pushing edge-to-edge displays. Why? Because white panels are notoriously difficult to manufacture at high quality with ultra-thin bezels—too many end up failing during production. But Meizu’s leaning into the challenge.
In fact, the brand’s teaser emphasizes that white has been core to Meizu’s identity since the MX2 era. Rather than play it safe, they’ve doubled down.
To pull it off, Meizu says its R&D team developed a custom LIPO process and a six-layer treatment method. This new approach reportedly caused a spike in failure rates during early production runs, but the company says it’s closing in on mass-production quality.
Compact Form, Flagship Ambitions
While Meizu hasn’t confirmed the display size yet, the 22 is expected to feature a compact, one-hand-friendly form factor—something increasingly rare in the Android flagship space.
Under the hood, it looks like the Meizu 22 (model number M582Q) will be no slouch. It’s expected to pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version, paired with a single-cell 5370mAh battery (rated at 5500mAh typical). For imaging, Meizu is reportedly including a periscope telephoto lens, aligning with its earlier promise to “completely redefine image quality” starting with this generation.

Interestingly, Meizu is also shaking up its product naming. Rather than splitting models into “Pro” and “Standard,” the company is building a single, cohesive lineup under the Meizu 22 name, possibly offering multiple configurations without traditional tiers.
A Design-Driven Comeback?
Meizu may not command the same market share it once did, but if the Meizu 22 lives up to its promises—razor-thin bezels, white-panel craftsmanship, and a focus on high-end imaging—it could mark a turning point.
The company hasn’t shared a launch date yet, but with teasers now rolling out, a full reveal shouldn’t be far off.
