Redmi Note 15 Pro+ to Launch with Satellite Messaging—A First for the Series

Xiaomi is pushing the envelope again, this time with satellite connectivity in the Redmi lineup. The company’s upcoming Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Satellite Edition has just passed radio certification, confirming support for Beidou short message satellite communication—a major step toward bringing next-gen features to mainstream smartphones. The model number 25104RADAC appeared in regulatory filings, and reports from IT Home and well-known tech tipster DCS suggest this feature could be a standout in the crowded mid-range market.

Satellite Messaging for the Masses

Until now, satellite connectivity has mostly been available for premium flagships. That changes with the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Satellite Edition. With support for two-way Beidou satellite messaging, users can send and receive texts even in areas with no cellular coverage—a potentially game-changing upgrade for hikers, field workers, and anyone operating in remote or emergency conditions.

This makes the device one of the most affordable smartphones to offer satellite communication, pushing the tech into broader hands for the first time.

Performance and Power Keep Up

Beyond messaging, Xiaomi has also locked in 90W fast charging for another model in the lineup, codenamed 2510ERA8BC, according to recent 3C certification listings. Paired with a large battery—expected to be around 6200mAh—this should give users solid screen time with minimal charging interruptions. That’s a big plus for people working in the field who don’t always have access to a wall socket. The phone is expected to land in August, aligning with Xiaomi’s usual late-summer release window.

Evolving from a Strong Platform

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+, launched in 2024, laid the groundwork for this evolution. That model brought a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, a sharp 1.5K OLED curved display, and a 50MP Light Hunter 800 main sensor to the sub-premium segment—raising the bar for value-driven devices.

Xiaomi seems set to retain that hardware pedigree in the Note 15 series, while adding new layers of utility like satellite messaging and faster power delivery. As always, it’s a balancing act between cutting-edge features and aggressive pricing.

Launch Strategy and Global Availability

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Satellite Edition will debut exclusively in China, following Xiaomi’s typical strategy of trialing ambitious features in its home market before expanding globally. Meanwhile, the standard Redmi Note 15 Pro+ (without satellite capability) will be available internationally, giving global users access to the upgraded chipset, camera system, and charging speeds—even if they miss out on satellite support for now.

It’s not yet confirmed if or when the satellite variant will make its way to other countries, but with growing global interest in emergency communication features, a broader rollout wouldn’t be surprising.
