Realme GT 8 Series Could Launch Together in October

Realme may be rethinking its flagship playbook. According to a leak, the company plans to unveil the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro simultaneously. This means we’re having an October launch on the table. If true, this would be a clear shift from how Realme handled things last year. The GT 7 Pro dropped in November 2024, but the GT 7, didn’t arrive until May this year! That’s nearly half a year later. That split approach didn’t just stretch out the timeline, it created a noticeable performance gap between the two devices.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Both Models

This time around, Realme seems intent on giving both phones flagship-grade treatment. The leak points to Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (SM8850) powering both the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro. It’s a big deal, considering only the Pro variant got Qualcomm’s top-tier silicon last year.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to be Qualcomm’s most powerful chip yet, with better thermals and battery efficiency. By giving the standard GT 8 the same chip as the Pro, Realme may be aiming to close the gap. Thus competing more directly with the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus — all of whom have flagships scheduled for Q4.

Realme GT 8 Pro: Display, Camera, and Battery Highlights

Details about the GT 8 Pro are starting to take shape — and they sound ambitious.

  • Flat OLED Display with Anti-Glare Tech: The phone is rumored to sport a 6.85-inch flat 2K OLED panel, sourced from Samsung. It may come with the same AR anti-glare coating used on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, offering improved visibility under harsh lighting.
  • Massive Battery, Blazing Fast Charging: Under the hood, we’re likely to see a 7,000mAh+ battery, reportedly built around a metal middle frame — a structural move to reinforce heat management. Realme is also sticking with 100W fast charging, which should juice the phone from near-empty to full in under 30 minutes.
  • Camera: 200MP Periscope in Play: On the camera front, the highlight appears to be a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor, possibly Samsung’s HP9. That same sensor is rumored to feature in Oppo’s upcoming Find X9 Pro, suggesting Realme’s trying to play in the same ultra-premium camera space.

What About the Regular GT 8?

At the moment, Realme is keeping the standard GT 8 under wraps. No major design or spec leaks yet — but if it does end up sharing the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, this may be the first time the base GT model genuinely keeps pace with its Pro sibling.

Expect more leaks and teasers to roll out as October gets closer.
