Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Could Outshine the Base S25 in a Key Feature

In an unexpected shift, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 FE is poised to outdo the regular Galaxy S25 in one area you probably didn’t see coming—charging speed. A new TÜV Rheinland certification suggests the Fan Edition is getting a serious boost.  Thus bringing it in line with the Galaxy S25 Ultra‘s 45W wired charging.

Wait, the FE Gets Faster Charging Than the Base Model?

Yep. It’s strange, but that’s what the data says. According to the listing—first spotted by SammyGuru—the S25 FE will support 10V/4.5A and 15V/3A power input. That translates to 45W wired charging, the same spec found on Samsung’s high-end S25 Ultra.

Meanwhile, the base Galaxy S25 still maxes out at 25W, at least based on current reports. That’s a significant difference in practical terms. While 45W isn’t class-leading in 2025, it’s fast enough to top off most batteries in under an hour—roughly 50% faster than 25W, depending on capacity and thermal limits.

The First Real Charging Upgrade for the Fan Edition Line

For context, the Galaxy FE series has long lagged behind in this department. Even last year’s Galaxy S24 FE stuck to 25W, despite increasing battery sizes and consumer expectations. Samsung’s decision to lift the charging cap on the S25 FE feels overdue—and maybe a sign it’s taking this model more seriously as a premium mid-tier option. It also positions the S25 FE a little oddly in the lineup. More affordable than the S25, but faster to charge? That’s not typically how tiering works.

What Else Do We Know So Far?

Aside from the charging news, leaked renders show the S25 FE sticking close to Samsung’s modern design language. Clean edges, centered punch-hole camera, and a minimalist rear layout. The device is said to be 7.4mm thick, just a hair bulkier than the 7.2mm Galaxy S25, and reportedly comes with a 6.7-inch OLED display, FHD+ resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, Geekbench listings point to an Exynos 2400 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and shipping with Android 16. There’s also confirmation via the Wireless Power Consortium that the device will support Qi2 wireless charging, which improves efficiency and alignment compared to older wireless standards.

Fan Edition, But Not So Budget Anymore

With these specs—especially the charging speed and potential Qi2 support—the Galaxy S25 FE isn’t looking like a “lite” version anymore. It’s still expected to be more affordable than the Ultra or Plus models, but it’s edging closer to flagship territory than ever before.

There’s no official launch date yet, you have to know that. However Samsung typically unveils its FE models a few months after the main Galaxy S-series lineup, often in early fall.
