Redmi K90 Series Could Bring a Stunning 2K Display in a More Compact Size

Redmi might be gearing up for a serious shake-up in the flagship space. According to trusted leaker Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Redmi K90 series will feature a compact but high-end 6.59-inch 2K LTPS display—a notable departure from the K80’s slightly larger 6.67-inch panel.
A Smaller Screen, But a Sharper Experience?
At first glance, shrinking the screen size may seem like a step back. But this isn’t just a matter of dimensions. The new LTPS “pure straight” display aims to improve clarity, efficiency, and touch responsiveness—essentially refining what a flagship display can feel like in hand.
The screen also features a large R-angle design and narrow bezels, which should result in a more immersive, edge-to-edge look without sacrificing aesthetics. If accurate, the K90 could land squarely in the sweet spot for users who want premium visuals in a more pocket-friendly format.
Compared to the K80: Compact Evolution?
The K80 already had a sharp display—6.67 inches, 2K resolution, eye-protection tech, and a flat design. But this move toward a 6.59-inch panel might signal a shift in Redmi’s flagship philosophy: less about size, more about refinement. LTPS panels offer advantages in power consumption and color accuracy, and they often feel snappier in daily use compared to some other panel types. It’s not just a numbers game—it’s about overall polish.
Launch Timeline and Pricing Rumors
Redmi typically sticks to a late-year release schedule, so a November 2025 launch in China seems likely. If the leaked pricing holds, the K90 Pro could hit the 4,000–5,000 yuan mark, or roughly $560–$700 USD—positioning it as a more premium option in Redmi’s traditionally value-focused lineup.
That could raise eyebrows. Redmi has long built its brand around aggressive pricing. But with a focus on advanced substrates, flagship-level resolution, and improved screen engineering, it might be aiming to stretch upward.

We’ll know more later this year, but this leak suggests the K90 series won’t just be an incremental refresh—it might be Redmi’s most refined display effort yet.
