A new Apple-related leak has pointed towards the possibility of an AirPods Pro 3. It is nearing three years since Apple released the latest in-ear “Pro” version of its famed earbuds lineup, and there have already been many rumors about what is coming next.
However, the latest leak seemingly confirms that the AirPods Pro 3 are coming real soon.
Apple AirPods Pro 3 Leak Hints Upcoming Device
Insider Aaron Perris has discovered a new set of strings on Apple’s latest software release (via X), detailing a possibility that the AirPods Pro 3 may be coming soon.
The insider shared images of the old software codes and compared them to the new ones, highlighting the key change to their content that signifies that the AirPods Pro 3 are coming.
In the previous version, the code only pointed to the AirPods Pro 2nd Generation as the device required for that specific feature to work. However, in the new update, Apple changed the lines that now claim it is requiring the “AirPods Pro 2 or later.”
While not explicitly mentioning that the AirPods Pro 3 are on their way, this change in the code highly suggests that a new device may be coming soon as it specifies AirPods Pro 2’s successor.

What to Expect From the AirPods Pro 3?
It was noted by 9to5Mac that while this does not necessarily mean that it is coming immediately, it could signify that the AirPods Pro 3 are right around the corner, and Apple is already preparing for the compatibility of said features with the new device.
There are many possible timelines for Apple to introduce the AirPods Pro 3, like having them join the iPhone showcase later this year, which is already what is expected of the company. It may also be a big surprise announcement this June at WWDC.
Apple’s AirPods Developments
There are still no specific confirmations on the upcoming new AirPods releases from Apple, but there are dataminers who have discovered the plans of the company, claiming it to be from its roadmap. One specific upgrade coming to the AirPods is that it will get cameras at its bottom parts and deliver an evolved wearable that is also capable of capturing images or videos in the future.
Apple has yet to confirm anything about a future AirPods 4 or AirPods Pro 3 release, but sources believe that the company’s next audio wearable would be joining this year’s releases alongside the iPhone 17 lineup. That being said, Apple recently made a massive shift in the AirPods’ production by bringing them to India as part of a diversification program to slowly lessen its reliance on China.
Despite all the news about the new AirPods, fans of the AirPods Max series are still kept waiting in the dark as no new information has been released by Apple or trusted sources regarding developments for the over-the-ear headphones.
