Motorola is getting ready to launch the Moto G56, which is the next version of last year’s Moto G55. The new phone has been shown before it is officially released. We now know all its details and design because of recent images and reports.
Motorola G56: Specifications, Features, and What’s New
The Moto G56 features a 6.72-inch LCD display. It is 1080 x 2400 in resolution and has a 120 Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and video silky smooth. It can reach up to 1,000 nits in brightness, making it easier to view outdoors. The display comes with Gorilla Glass 7i protection, making it resistant to scratches and drops.
At the rear, there is a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, using Sony’s Lytia LYT-600 sensor. An 8 MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.2 aperture also sits at the rear. The front of the phone has a 32 MP selfie camera, which is much better than the front camera of the G55.
The device comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7060 processor. The phone will have 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. The storage can also be expanded via a microSD card.
Motorola G56 Revealed: Key Upgrades Over the G55
The 5,200 mAh battery is more powerful than the G55’s 5,000 mAh battery. It features 33W wired charging for fast charging. The phone accommodates stereo speakers and is IP68 and IP69 rated as water and dustproof. It also meets MIL-STD-810H standards, making it rugged.
Moto G56 operates on Android 15. The 4 GB version will receive one Android update and three years of security updates (every two months). The 8 GB version will receive two Android updates and bi-monthly security updates for four years.
It measures 165.75 x 76.26 x 8.35 mm and weighs 200 grams. It will be available in four Pantone-inspired colors from Motorola: Black Oyster, Gray Mist, Dazzling Blue, and Dill. Compared to the G55, the G56 has a larger display, a better front camera, and a slightly bigger battery. It’s a nice upgrade for anyone who wants more power and better features in a mid-range phone.
