Apple’s iOS 19 Is Coming Soon – Here Are 3 Big Features to Watch For

Apple is almost ready to reveal iOS 19. The big update will be announced next month at WWDC 2025. It’s expected to bring a lot of new features to the iPhone. Here are three of the most exciting ones that people are talking about.
1. A Brand-New Look for iOS
This is the biggest change. Apple may redesign iOS from the ground up. If the leaks are true, this will be the biggest design update since iOS 7.
The goal is to make iOS 19:
- Easier to use
- Faster to move around
- Simpler to learn
Apple doesn’t plan to change everything. The new design will still feel familiar, just more modern and clean. One big change may come to tab bars in apps. Instead of sitting at the bottom, they could float above your content and include a built-in search bar.
It won’t be as dramatic as the Photos app redesign in iOS 18, but it’s still a major update that will freshen things up.
2. More AI Options from Other Companies
Apple started adding AI features last year with Apple Intelligence. It mostly used Apple’s own AI models but also added ChatGPT to Siri and writing tools.
Now with iOS 19, Apple may go a step further. Reports say you’ll be able to pick from different third-party AI tools—maybe even Google’s Gemini. That means more choice and smarter tools without needing to switch apps.
Apple will still offer new built-in AI features too. However, the added support for outside AI could make iPhones even more helpful for everyday tasks.
3. New Multitasking on External Displays
iPhones are powerful, but iOS doesn’t always let that power shine. That could change soon. Apple may add a new “Stage Manager”-style mode in iOS 19.
When you connect your iPhone to an external display, you might get a new multitasking interface. It would let you open and use several apps at once—just like on a Mac or iPad. This might seem like a small feature, but it makes sense for two reasons:
- iPadOS 19 is also getting big multitasking upgrades
- Apple’s foldable iPhone is rumored to launch next year, and it’ll need advanced multitasking features
Apple can test Stage Manager now and fine-tune it before launching the foldable iPhone.
iOS 19 Is Just Around the Corner
Apple will officially show off iOS 19 on June 9 during the WWDC keynote. These three features are just the beginning. We’re also expecting big Siri upgrades, smarter AirPods features, and a whole lot more.
