A new smartphone from OnePlus recently appeared on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) database. This is a certification that any mobile phone sold in India must have. The new device with model number CPH2717 is touted to be the OnePlus Nord CE5. Its appearance on BIS suggests that this device will launch soon in India, possibly as early as June. Earlier speculations claim that this device will arrive in May. However, with the new certification, there will likely be a slight delay.
The BIS listing doesn’t reveal many new details, but it confirms that OnePlus is preparing to release the phone in the Indian market soon. It also follows a string of recent leaks, including renders and full specifications.
Flat design with a big OLED screen
According to earlier leaks, the Nord CE5 will feature a flat frame and a flat back design. This device comes with a 6.7-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. This means that the display will be smooth and suitable for gaming and streaming.
A MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, a mid-range SoC built for efficiency and performance, will power this device. It should offer a balance between daily use and gaming without breaking the bank. In addition to the processor, this device also supports 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Massive battery and fast charging
To keep its lights on, the OnePlus Nord CE5 houses a massive 7,100mAh battery. That’s far bigger than what most phones in this segment offer. It will also support 80W wired fast charging, which is more than the average industry standard. This also means that it will get a full charge in just over an hour, considering its large battery.
Camera setup and other features
In terms of cameras, the Nord CE5 is said to include a dual rear setup. A 50MP Sony Lytia LYT-600 primary camera and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultrawide camera are included. This device also has a 16MP sensor for selfies. Other features include a hybrid SIM slot, stereo speakers, an infrared blaster, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
