Samsung is rolling out a new update for its Galaxy smartwatches. The April 2025 update first arrived for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra earlier this month. Now, it’s coming to more models.
This update is for Samsung watches that run on Wear OS. It covers watches going back to 2021, starting with the Galaxy Watch 4. The update began in South Korea, but it’s now showing up in the US and other regions too.
List of Samsung Galaxy Watches that will Receive the April 2025 Update
Here’s the full list of Galaxy watches getting the update:
- Galaxy Watch 7
- Galaxy Watch Ultra
- Galaxy Watch 6
- Galaxy Watch 6 Classic
- Galaxy Watch 5
- Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
- Galaxy Watch 4
- Galaxy Watch 4 Classic
The update size depends on the watch. Most updates are between 400MB and 500MB. To check for it, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone. Then go to Watch settings > Watch software update.
What’s New in This Update?
Honestly, the update doesn’t add new features. Samsung says it only improves stability and security. Here’s what the changelog says:
- The watch runs more smoothly.
- The security is better.
That’s all for this update. No new features or any fancy changes.
Also, the update comes with the March 2025 security patch, not the latest one. So, while it improves things, it’s not fully up to date.
Nonetheless, this update is very important for users. It does not just keep your smartwatch running smoothly but also enhances the security of your personal data. Even though you may not notice any physical changes, it is equally important not to ignore this update.
The update is already being rolled out. However, not all users will receive it simultaneously. Some users will get it earlier due to the model of their smartwatch or geographical location. All eligible users will receive the update in the next few weeks.
