Apple’s iPhone 17 series is making headlines in the tech community even before its official release, with imminent rumored upgrades packed with power.

Traditionally, Apple has held back larger RAM capacities for its Pro variants. But based on reports that started emerging from Weibo, every iPhone 17 model, including the regular one, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max, will ship with 12GB of RAM. This would be the first time Apple has had such a high baseline RAM for all of its iPhone models.

Earlier, it was heard that only three of the four models would see the RAM upgrade, while the base version might remain at 8GB. The new update indicates the Cupertino giant might have made its decision early to coordinate with production schedules.

A19 Pro Chip Could Be Another Game-Changer

The performance is set to take a quantum leap forward with the launch of the A19 Pro chip, which will allegedly drive the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. Developed on TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm process, the A19 Pro will bring much-improved energy efficiency and unadulterated speed over its predecessor, the A18 Pro.

Though Apple has not officially announced any benchmarks or architecture information, insiders suggest the A19 Pro will provide significant increases in multitasking, gaming, and AI performance, according to GSM Arena.

If these enhancements materialize, the A19 Pro would place the iPhone 17 Pro models among the fastest smartphones ever made.

iPhone 18 to Bring LPDDR5X Memory Technology

Looking forward, Apple also has big plans for the iPhone 18 series, especially in terms of memory. Based on the same leak, Apple will use six-channel LPDDR5X RAM in the iPhone 18 series, a first for the company.

With improved memory, iPhone fans could expect faster data transfer rates and higher bandwidth next year. This translates to even snappier app startups, enhanced multitasking, and improved management of resource-intensive tasks such as 4K video editing and real-time AI processing.
