Meta AI Chatbots, Even Celebrity-Voiced Ones, Can Reportedly Have Sexual Conversations With Minors

Meta is now under fire after it was discovered that their chatbots can lead sexual conversations, even with accounts of minors.

A new report claims that, in test conversations with Meta’s AI chatbots, it has been confirmed that these engagements may lead to sexually explicit ones that are inappropriate for the underaged.

It has also been revealed that the conversations can still continue despite the user who owns the account are not yet of legal age, and users may also program their Meta AI chatbots to act as minors in the roleplay.

Meta AI Chatbots Reportedly Have Sex Convos with Minors

The Wall Street Journal has shared a report about the latest blunders of Meta’s artificial intelligence, particularly as it has been revealed that it can engage in sexual conversations with users, and it would not matter if the accounts belonged to minors.

The Wall Street Journal said that, upon testing, Meta AI would still engage in these sexually explicit conversations even with underaged accounts.

Users would have to be the ones to steer the conversations to turn sexual and improper but doing so would deliver what users ask for from Meta AI’s chatbots, including the simulation of celebrity AI.

The report revealed that apart from Meta’s AI chatbot, users may also take advantage of AI celebrity voices joining in on inappropriate sexual conversation, featuring the likeness of John Cena, Kristen Bell, Dame Judi Dench, and more.

Apart from this, users may also instruct Meta’s AI to appear as a minor in these chats, overturning the situation where the technology acts as the underaged ones to the user.

As per Engadget, Meta has since responded to the report by the WSJ, calling it “manipulative and unrepresentative of how most users engage with AI companions.”

That being said, the Meta AI chatbots, particularly the John Cena one, acknowledged that sexual conversations are unsafe and illegal, detailing a hypothetical scenario where it would be apprehended by the police.

Meta AI: The Many Controversies It Faces

For a long time, Meta has developed the Llama model, which is what currently powers the AI features it has available across its social media platforms, with the company known for making it open source to the public.

However, it has also been at the center of controversy over the years as when it released, it was able to deliver unsafe content to users, including sexually explicit stickers on Facebook and Instagram.

The rise of Meta’s AI surfaced two years ago, and it joined the many companies offering an AI-powered experience on their platforms, with Meta able to deliver both social media and machine learning at the same time.

However, users found a political bias to it when it generated stickers on WhatsApp that featured Palestinian children with guns but did not include these on Israeli sticker generations.

Apart from this explicit content, there were also complaints regarding its alleged illegal AI training, which used unlicensed content and data from the internet. Recently, users have raised concerns about how Facebook and Instagram are no longer safe platforms as Meta announced that they will soon train their AI using public posts made on these platforms.
