Apple is getting ready to launch the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch SE 3 later this year. The launch is expected to happen in September, alongside the new Apple Watch Series 11. Apple had previously launched just a new color for the Ultra model, with no major hardware upgrades last year. The bigger ones this time.
Apple Getting Ready to Launch the Watch Ultra 3 and SE 3
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 will bring some substantial new features. One of the most important updates is 5G support, thanks to a MediaTek modem. The watch should also include satellite communication, a feature that came with the iPhone 14 series. This will make the Ultra 3 even more useful in rural environments.
Another significant alteration is on its way to the screen. Apple will employ a fresh iteration of the LTPO3 OLED panel that debuted in Series 10. The new display will be as much as 40% brighter from some angles, further simplifying outdoor legibility.
Monitoring health will also become better. Apple has been working on blood pressure monitoring for a very long time. The Ultra 3 may be the first Apple Watch with it. But there could be technical problems in its way.
On the software side, the Ultra 3 will come with watchOS 12. The new release brings a new design, which borrows from visionOS. The users can expect glass-like surfaces, translucent effects, rounded buttons, and soft lighting. These should make the watch look more modern and stylish.
The Apple Watch SE 3 will also see some much-needed upgrades. The SE series has not been updated since 2022. The SE 3 will feature a newer and more efficient processor, providing it with an extra boost of power and keeping it on the same level as the other models.
Apple is squarely going all out with its smartwatch line this year. With better connectivity, brighter displays, new health features, and updated software, the next-gen watches are looking very good indeed.
