AirPods Live Translation Feature Reportedly Coming to iOS 19—AirPods Pro 3 Also on the Way?

The next operating system for the iPhone, iOS 19, is at the center of rumors about the many features it will bring, including the live translation feature it will reportedly bring for the AirPods.

Through iOS 19, the AirPods will be able to pick up audio and translate it to the preferred language of the wearer. Different languages will reportedly be available.

Massive things are coming to the AirPods this year thanks to iOS 19, based on reports, but other rumors claim Apple’s working on the next generation of its noise-canceling audio wearable for this year.

Apple’s iOS 19 to Bring Live Translation to AirPods

According to the latest report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is set to deliver a massive update to its iPhones with the iOS 19 release coming later this year, and this will include a new feature for the AirPods that the public will get to enjoy.

This would benefit the many travelers who are visiting foreign countries and are not adept with their language as the new tool can function as a universal translating tool for owners.

Not only that, users would also get to enjoy them at home when dealing with foreign merchants or visitors who are not that capable of conversing with them in the same language.

This adds to the many features that the AirPods already has available for users, including its Active Noise Cancelation (ANC) and Transparency Mode.

It is connected to the software update as the iPhone would do the translation part, for example, if it hears a person speaking a foreign language, it will send the translated audio to the AirPods for the user to hear, says the report.

AirPods Pro 3 Is Also Rumored to Arrive This Year

Alongside this, there are also rumors that Apple is working on the next generation wireless audio device that would reinforce its Pro lineup, following the AirPods Pro 2.

Analysts are also expecting the arrival of the AirPods Pro 3 this year, and it is said to be joining the iPhone 17 launch later this fall, featuring an all-new chipset.

Apple’s AirPods Milestones

The current iPhone operating system has given the AirPods massive features to enjoy, and this centers on the Hearing Aid capabilities of the wearable that are now helping those who have auditory impairments. Apple worked on the technology to be authorized by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its use among those in need, transforming the AirPods into a clinical-grade hearing device.

The latest AirPods, including the base version’s third generation and the AirPods Pro 2, have given the world noise cancelation features, but Apple’s tech is more than just blocking out external audio. They also feature the so-called Transparency Mode, which allows external noise to pass through the wearables so people may continue to wear the AirPods while on the streets or in a conversation.

Since the introduction of the AirPods, it has been more than an audio listening device for users who enjoy music as many have relied on it for streaming, video conferencing, and more.

After being given the capabilities to be a medical device, Apple is not yet done with its development and is looking to expand what it offers, and this time, as a universal audio device.
