The Realme GT7 Pro arrived long ago as a very interesting cost-effective flagship, or better saying, “flagship killer”. Sporting a big battery and a flagship processor, the device was a hit since its announcement. A few months after the original device’s launch, Realme unveiled a Pro Racing Edition with a more affordable price. Now, the brand goes beyond in the cost-effective flagship category with the launch of the vanilla Realme GT7. The device misses the “Pro” in its name, but it is still very impressive with the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset and a massive 7,200 mAh battery.

Realme GT7 Specifications and Features

The latest MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ improves CPU and NPU performance and was unveiled early this month. The new processor offers more performance and efficiency than the vanilla flagship SoC. The Realme GT7 pairs it with 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

These specs come beneath a gorgeous 6.8-inch panel with 2,800 x 1,280 pixels resolution with a high 144 Hz refresh rate. Curiously, this is not an LTPO panel, and we believe this is where Realme is cutting corners to make it cheaper than its siblings. The smartphone comes with a global maximum brightness of 1,800 nits, which is great but not comparable to recent flagships with LTPO OLED panels. The device’s brightness is controlled with DC dimming and PWM. It renders 10-bit colors and offers support for HDR.

Huge Battery with 100W Super Flash Charge

Another of the phone’s highlights is the battery capacity. The Realme GT7 packs a huge 7,200 mAh battery with support for 100W Super Flash Charge. It’s an upgrade compared to the 6,500 mAh cell on the GT 7 Pro. The phone misses wireless charging, but this is not seen often in the cost-effective segment. The fast-charging technology allows you to get at least 5% of charge from zero in just 1 minute. It’s enough to boot the phone, make a call, or perform any emergency activity. The phone also supports second-gen bypass charging that draws power directly from the wall.

The GT7 comes with a layer of graphene plus a conductive glass fiber back cover that improves heat dissipation during use and charge. Realme also equipped it with “the industry’s largest” vapor chamber for the chipset.

In terms of optics, the Realme GT7 has a basic camera system when compared to the Pro. It has a 50 MP 1/1.56” Sony IMX896 main camera with OIS and an 8 MP OmniVision OV08D10 ultra-wide snapper. The selfie camera is a 16 MP sensor. The rear camera supports 4K video recording at up to 60 fps, the front camera tops out at 1080p at 60 fps.

In terms of connectivity, the phone has dual 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and an IR blaster. There are also stereo speakers, but no 3.5 mm headphone jack. The device brings an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner.

Pricing and Availability

The Realme GT7 is available in China now through the company’s online store. The phone’s price starts at CNY 2,600 ($355) for the 12GB/256GB model. More detailed pricing is in the table below. Realme is offering some freebies for early-birds, like a magnetic cooler for the back and Realme Buds T200 Lite.

For now, there is no word regarding a global launch. However, we believe this phone could eventually hit other markets like India.
