Google Gemini 2.5 Pro Model Is Now Available—Does the ‘Most Advanced’ Model Have Limitations?

Over the weekend, Google has made a massive announcement regarding the availability of its “most advanced” Gemini model yet, and the company is now inviting everyone to try out Gemini 2.5 Pro.

All users are now eligible to try out Gemini 2.5 Pro and its experiences, but there is a caveat on its use as it can only be accessed via the web for now.

However, it does not end there. For the time being, users would have to face certain usage limitations for the latest model of the renowned chatbot, but Google promises that it will soon expand for better experiences.

Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro Is Now Available for All

The latest post from Google via X has announced the arrival of Gemini 2.5 Pro after its earlier exclusive run on paid tiers as the company has made it available for all types of user accounts. According to Google, the team behind Gemini have worked nonstop and rushed towards making the model available for users to enjoy as soon as possible.

However, it is important to note that this latest model from Google is still an “experimental
release. That being said, Google claimed that users may now enjoy what it has to offer and see the AI advancements firsthand.

The main capabilities present on Gemini 2.5 Pro advanced is its reasoning and thought process, which would be visible to users when they ask questions.

Free Tier Face Limited Use for ‘Most Advanced’ Model

For now, users may only access Gemini 2.5 Pro via its website, but Google promised that it is currently working on bringing over the model to the mobile app.

However, for free users, expect to face rate limits according to Google, but it remains unknown if it would be the same as the previous limitations early testers experienced. Google said that the best way to experience Gemini’s newfound power is via the Advanced subscription.

Google’s All-In AI Development for Gemini

Generative AI has greatly taken over what Google as the company has integrated it into many of its offerings and developments. The change in focus Google replace its Assistant with Gemini, with the advanced multimodal AI now the featured technology of the company.

Most recently, Google has begun expanding the latest advancements to Search for more users to enjoy, particularly with the “AI Mode,” which only shares AI-generated summaries of web results. While it is not yet widely available as of writing, users who are on the Free tier are now slowly being given access to the feature.
