Google Gemini Gets Personal: Enhancing Your Search Experience

March 15, 2025
Google has introduced a new feature in Gemini AI that allows it to use your search history to provide better and more personalized answers. This feature is powered by the Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking model and helps the AI connect with Google apps and services for improved responses.
How This Feature Works
Gemini AI can now analyze your past Google searches to give you more accurate and relevant answers. Google says this will save time and help users get useful information quickly.
Currently, Gemini only has access to search history, but Google plans to expand this feature in the future. Soon, it may connect with other Google services like Gmail, Calendar, and Drive, making it even more powerful.
Privacy and User Control
This feature is optional, meaning users must turn it on themselves. To enable it, go to the Gemini app, open settings, and select “Personalization”. Once enabled, Gemini will use your search history to enhance responses.

Google has assured users that Gemini will only use search history when necessary. If it determines that past searches won’t help, it will provide answers as usual.
Why This Feature is Useful
Google says early testers have found this feature helpful for several reasons:
- Brainstorming ideas – Gemini can suggest things based on what you searched before.
- Personalized recommendations – The AI can give suggestions that match your interests.
- Faster answers – You won’t have to search for the same things again and again.
Who Can Use This Feature?
At the moment, this feature is available for Gemini and Gemini Advanced users on the web. Google plans to bring it to mobile devices soon.
This update is part of Google’s effort to improve Gemini AI and make it more helpful and responsive. As Gemini evolves, Google will likely add more smart features to enhance the user experience.
