Xiaomi is making a bold move into high-performance electric vehicles with the SU7 Ultra. It’s a track-focused sedan now showcased in showrooms across China. Ahead of its official launch, enthusiasts can explore the EV in 112 stores across 42 cities. Xiaomi’s Weibo announcement and the SU7 Ultra’s presence at its Beijing factory confirm that mass production is in progress, with deliveries set to begin in March.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Brings Impressive Specs and Stunning Visuals

The SU7 Ultra became available for presale on October 29, priced at RMB 814,900 (€102,100). Within just 10 minutes, it secured 3,680 orders, highlighting strong demand. Compared to the standard SU7, the Ultra model features a redesigned front bumper, larger brakes, a bold yellow body with “Ultra” stripes, and a wider stance. A prominent rear spoiler further enhances its aggressive, performance-focused look.

The SU7 Ultra is Xiaomi’s fastest EV, featuring a cutting-edge triple-motor system that produces 1,526 horsepower and 1,770 Nm of torque. This setup enables a blistering 0-100 km/h time of 1.98 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h. To handle such extreme performance, it comes equipped with massive carbon ceramic brake discs—the largest ever in a sports car—capable of withstanding temperatures over 1,300°C. These high-performance brakes ensure a stopping distance of just 30.8 meters from 100 km/h to a full stop.

The SU7 Ultra features a 93.7 kWh Qilin II high-power battery from CATL. It supports a 5.2C DC fast charging for a 10-80% charge in just 11 minutes. With a CLTC range of 620 km on a full charge, its real-world track performance remains to be seen. Unlike the standard SU7, built for daily commuting, the Ultra model prioritizes high-performance driving with upgraded power and braking. With deliveries starting in March, its waiting times will be worth watching. Xiaomi’s entry into this space puts it in direct competition with the Tesla Model S Plaid. It will also compete with the Lucid Air Sapphire and the under-the-radar Zeekr 001 FR.

The Xiaomi SU7 development lasted 15 years, and last year it finally hit the shelves. It quickly conquered the hearts of Chinese consumers, and Xiaomi is now confident to operate in this landscape. Besides the SU7 and its Ultra variant, the company is preparing its next electric vehicle, the YU7 which has a different design and target market.
