A recent post from the official Snapdragon account on X has confirmed that Samsung’s Galaxy S25 phones will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This news comes ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event, where Samsung will officially reveal the new devices.
Galaxy S25 Launch at Galaxy Unpacked
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S25 series on January 22 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California. In response to Samsung’s event announcement, the Snapdragon account simply said, “See you there.” Though brief, this message confirms that Qualcomm will power the new Galaxy S25 devices.
A Shift from Exynos to Snapdragon
In the past, Samsung used both Exynos and Snapdragon processors in different markets. However, it seems this will change with the Galaxy S25. Reports suggest Samsung has faced production issues with its Exynos chips. This has led to Qualcomm becoming the sole processor provider for this generation of Galaxy phones.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Optimized for Galaxy
The Galaxy S25 will benefit from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is rumored to be specially optimized for Samsung’s devices. Benchmark tests on Geekbench 6 suggest that an overclocked version called “Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy” will power the new phones. This should boost performance even further.
Galaxy S25 Models
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ will likely have similar features, with differences in screen size and battery capacity. The S25+ will have a larger display and a bigger battery. The Ultra model will continue to offer premium features, such as the S Pen, and will have thinner bezels and rounded corners.

The New Galaxy S25 Slim
Samsung may also introduce the Galaxy S25 Slim. This model will cater to users who want a thinner and lighter phone without losing power. It is expected to have a 6.66-inch display and a strong camera setup. This setup includes a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP telephoto lens.
Conclusion
The Galaxy S25 series will mark a shift for Samsung by exclusively using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. This change is expected to improve performance and provide a better user experience. More details will be revealed at the Galaxy Unpacked event, but it’s clear that the S25 series is set to impress.
