In Apple’s slightly confusing release schedule for the iPhone SE series, it seems that 2025 will be the year of the next year. Ahead of the launch of the new iPhone SE (2025) we already know about its price. A new report comes today from Korea and brings an interesting pricing point for Apple’s cheaper iPhone. It will also be a remarkable release, after all, it is rumored to finally debut Apple’s self-development modem after multiple delays.
New iPhone SE to Cost About $499
According to the report, the new iPhone SE will start at $499. It’s an interesting price, after all, the vanilla iPhone 16 costs about $799. Although Apple does not call its cheaper version, the next SE model will stand as the most cost-effective version of the iPhone. It’s an affordable way to enter the iPhone ecosystem if you can deal with the differences over the regular iPhone lineup.

The last iPhone SE launched in 2022 and had a $429 price tag. Even though the new model represents a $70 price hike, we have to agree that the smartphone market changed in the past year. Price hikes have reached the entire smartphone market. So it’s not a big surprise to see it affecting the next SE. Anyway, the new device is rumored to come with some notable upgrades over the 2022 model.
The next iPhone SE will come with the Apple A18 chipset and 8 GB of RAM for Apple Intelligence support. The device will also get a 6.06-inch 60 Hz OLED screen. It will also include a 48 MP main camera and a 12 MP selfie camera. In terms of design, the device is expected to keep iPhone 14 design including the notch with Face ID sensors. Considering the specs, the 2025 iPhone SE will borrow the chipset, RAM amount, and main camera from the iPhone 16. The device will still miss an ultrawide camera and will bring a design that might be considered bulky.
It seems that 2025 will be interesting for Apple fans. Besides the obvious yearly upgrade, that will introduce the iPhone 17 series, more models are coming. There are rumors about a new iPhone 17 Air with a very sleek body, and now an iPhone SE 2025.
