Building a search engine would cost Apple billions of dollars. It would also take years to develop. This effort would pull resources away from other projects Apple values more.
The search industry is evolving quickly, thanks to artificial intelligence. Entering such a fast-moving market would be risky and uncertain.
A successful search engine business relies on selling targeted ads. Apple has built its reputation on privacy. Moving into targeted advertising would go against its core values.
Apple does not have the team or infrastructure needed to build a competitive search engine. Competing with Google would require specialized knowledge that Apple currently lacks.
A Calculated Decision
For Apple, building a search engine seems unnecessary and risky. The company prefers to focus on areas where it already excels, such as hardware and software innovation. Artificial intelligence is transforming industries, and Apple is likely to use it in ways that align with its privacy and user-focused approach.
