Samsung Galaxy S25+ Live Photos Confirms Traditional Design For The Series

The circulating renders of the Samsung Galaxy S25+ may have sparked speculation about a Camera Control button. It is similar to the tiny touchpad found on the latest iPhones. However, there’s likely a much simpler explanation for this design detail.
The New Lineup Won’t Make Changes to the Design Language
The feature in question is almost certainly the mmWave 5G antenna. The model number “SM-S936U” indicates that this is the U.S. version of the Galaxy S25+ (similar to the U.S. S24+ model, SM-S926U), which requires an antenna for the faster mmWave 5G bands. These antennas are typically positioned in a small recessed area below the buttons on the phone’s side, closely resembling the detail seen in the renders. This design choice is practical rather than innovative, as mmWave connectivity requires specific hardware placement to function efficiently.

Beyond that, the Galaxy S25+ renders suggest minimal design changes compared to its predecessor. Notably, it lacks the new chunky camera rings seen on the S25 Ultra, maintaining a cleaner, more subtle look. As for the cameras, rumors indicate that the vanilla S25 and S25+ variants will see no major hardware upgrades. Samsung will prioritize improvements elsewhere, possibly in software or image processing. The One UI 7 coming with the new flagships is expected to bring more and more AI features for a powerful experience with the UI tools. Samsung is expected to follow its typical launch schedule, with the Galaxy S25 series likely to be officially unveiled in January.
Four Samsung Galaxy S25 Models in 2025
The S25 series will bring the Galaxy S25, S25+, and the S25 Ultra in January. However, some reports indicate the launch of an all-new variant dubbed Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim. While the name is not yet official, this variant is sleeker than the vanilla while it will include the same specifications. It’s not a “mini” variant, but one with a slim profile, not seen in other Galaxy S-series flagships. This particular variant will appear later, and according to certifications, it will be an international release and not a new variant for South Korea or China.
