Samsung is taking its AI-powered audio tools to the next level. With the upcoming Android 16-based One UI 8 update, the company is improving its Audio Removal tool, making it more powerful and widely available. The tool can now remove background noise in real time during video playback—no editing required.
Samsung Expands AI Audio Removal Tool with One UI 8 Update
Real-Time Audio Cleanup Gets a Boost
The Audio Removal feature first appeared as “Noise Eraser” in the Galaxy S25 series. It was introduced with One UI 7 but had a major limitation. Users could only use it inside the Gallery app, and only while editing videos. That’s about to change.
With One UI 8, the tool is being expanded to more apps and now works in real time. This means users can enjoy cleaner audio during playback without having to open an editing screen. The feature is now accessible in apps like Samsung Notes and Voice Recorder.
Just by tapping the Galaxy AI button, users can instantly remove background noises—such as hums, chatter, or ambient sounds—while recording or listening to audio.
Faster, Smarter, and More Integrated
Samsung says the new version is not only smarter but also faster. Thanks to real-time processing, users get immediate results. There’s no waiting and no need for extra steps. Even better, the tool will be part of more apps across the entire system.
This update is especially useful for content creators, journalists, students, and anyone who needs clean audio on the go. It also reduces the need for third-party apps or external editing tools.
Coming First to New Foldables
The updated tool will debut with Samsung’s upcoming foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Both devices will launch on July 9. These new phones will come with the improved Audio Removal tool pre-installed.

Older flagship models won’t be left out. Samsung plans to roll out the feature to previous Galaxy devices through software updates.
A Big Step in Mobile Audio Innovation
Samsung’s new audio processing features are part of a broader push to make Galaxy AI more useful. With voice control and real-time cleanup now built into the operating system, users can expect a smoother, smarter mobile experience. For many, this could change how audio is recorded and enjoyed on mobile devices.
