The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is looking to be one of the most hyped Android flagships of 2025. Though the official release is still months off, leaks keep providing a better idea of what’s on the horizon. New information has now leaked major camera details for the next device, and they suggest that some of the hardware will be very familiar.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera Details Leak: What to Expect

No Substantial Upgrade to the Main Camera

Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy S26 series during its Galaxy Unpacked event in early next year, likely in January or February. The typical annual launch typically introduces the company’s top smartphones. Based on new leaks, the S26 Ultra camera module may not receive notable upgrades from its predecessors.

The main camera is reported to be the same as in previous devices. This means that the S26 Ultra will have the same 200-megapixel sensor that debuted in previous devices. While this is still a good lens, this is an indication that Samsung is focusing more on refinement than innovation in this area.

Telephoto Camera Unchanged

According to credible sources like GalaxyClub, the S26 Ultra will feature a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with a 5x optical zoom. It is the same lens used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra. The sensor size remains the same at 1/2.52 inches. So far, there is no indication of dramatic improvements in zoom capability or image processing.

That being said, there are rumors that Samsung might bundle a dual telephoto setup in the S26 Ultra. In that case, one or both of the two telephoto cameras would most probably include a 50-megapixel sensor. As of now, there are no credible reports about the second camera, but the addition would boost the phone’s performance in telephotography at far distances.

Ultra-Wide Camera Carries Over from S25 Ultra

The S25 Ultra brought a major upgrade to the ultra-wide camera by raising its resolution from 12 megapixels to 50 megapixels. Leaks suggest that Samsung will use the same 50-megapixel sensor on the S26 Ultra. Such repeated usage indicates that the company has faith in what they already possess.

Final Thoughts

Though the Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t introduce groundbreaking camera technologies, its setup is still solid and reliable. Samsung seems to be refining hardware rather than replacing it. As we move closer to the release date, the more leaks we will see.
