Adobe has launched a new camera app for iPhone users. Called Project Indigo, the free application is available for download from the App Store. Developed by Adobe Labs, Adobe’s research and development group, the application is intended for professional photographers as well as photography fans. It combines advanced manual controls with artificial intelligence to supercharge mobile photography in remarkable ways.
Adobe Unveils New AI Camera App for iPhone: Project Indigo
One of the best things about Project Indigo is that it can take high quality photos through a multi frame processing method. Rather than shooting a single picture, the app takes multiple frames and bundles them together into one clear, crisp photo. This process minimizes noise and maximizes dynamic range, making the photo quality better than average even in low light situations.
Project Indigo is especially great at night photography. Users can manually set the number of frames the application captures and choose how long it accumulates light. There is also an extra long exposure mode. When used with a tripod, this allows users to create motion blur effects—ideal for capturing moving lights or running water.
Users of cameraphones will appreciate the full manual control offered by the app. You can control settings like shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and exposure compensation. It can output in both DNG and JPEG formats at the same time. Offering flexibility in terms of managing files and editing.

Yet another standout feature is how the app integrates with Adobe Lightroom. Photos captured using Project Indigo can be directly sent to Lightroom Mobile for further editing. Such seamless workflow is perfect for creators who would want to shoot and edit within the Adobe ecosystem.

The app is compatible with iPhone 12 Pro, 13 Pro, 14, and 15 series. However, Adobe recommends using it on the iPhone 15 Pro or higher to get the best performance and picture quality.
Are you a pro or just a photography fan? Project Indigo is an advanced set of tools that can take your iPhone photos to the next level. With manual controls, AI help, and pro level compatibility, it’s an excellent addition to the iPhone camera toolbox.
