Samsung to unveil Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 in New York this July

Samsung is expected to reveal its next wave of foldable phones in early July during its next Unpacked event. While the exact date remains unclear, multiple sources now suggest that the launch will take place in New York City. This follows earlier hints that the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 would be announced around that time.

A return to New York

If this latest report proves accurate, it would mark Samsung’s return to New York for a major in-person launch. The company last held a physical event there in 2019, when it introduced the Galaxy Note 10. In 2022, Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4 from New York, but that was a virtual event. The upcoming Unpacked, however, is expected to be a live, on-site event.

Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra teased

Samsung has also teased what appears to be a new addition to its foldable lineup – the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra. It remains unclear whether this will be a separate, higher-end version of the Fold7 or just a new name for the main Fold7 model. Some speculate that the Ultra could even be the long-rumored tri-fold device, though there is no confirmation yet.

The event could include more than just the Fold7 and Flip7. There’s talk that Samsung may also introduce the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, a possible lower-cost version of the clamshell foldable. If true, this would make the event one of the busiest Samsung has had for its foldable lineup.

What to expect

As the event draws closer, we expect to receive more information regarding the new incoming foldables. There will likely be more teasers and leaks before the official announcement, which should give a better picture of what these devices would offer. At the moment, it is probable that the South Korean manufacturer will unveil many new foldable devices in the Galaxy Z series.
