Over the past years, rumors about Apple’s development of more home technologies have been the talk of the town, and now, it has been reported that a smart home hub is on its way.
This specific device that is reportedly slated for this year would introduce the improved smart home experience for users, beginning with a “lower end version” that will act as a gateway to future releases.
Apple Smart Home Hub Is Reportedly On Track For 2025
According to the latest report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up for a massive launch later this year that would deliver a new era for the company, and that is its first-party smart home technology. This would come in the form of a smart home hub, which was originally expected to be delayed, but Gurman has shared an expedited timeline that would have one for this year.
In a previous report by Gurman, it was reported that Apple decided to delay its announcement of a smart home hub device in March as the company focused on attending to the issues with upgrading Siri.
The new information provided by the analyst renews the release timeline for the smart home hub.

Lower End Version First For Apple’s Smart Home Hub
This new smart home hub from Apple that is slated for this year would reportedly be a “lower-end version” of what the company plans to release, making this an entry-level release. The goal for this lower-end device is to meet a reported release window for the company where it would have to forego “bolder features.”
That being said, there are still developments to deliver the more advanced version of this smart home hub that would come in the form of a robotic arm with a display, capable of moving around one’s desk where it is mounted. This advanced robotic arm version could come out in a year or two after releasing this reported lower-end version this year.
Apple Smart Home Development Rumors
For over two years already, there have been rumors about Apple working on smart home devices that would start a new era for the company. These rumors center on displays that will assist users in their daily lives, particularly in controlling one’s home and integrating the connected experiences from Apple.
As of writing, there have been two recurring devices that were discussed by sources, with leaks showing off the frame of the supposed “HomeAccessory,” which is a HomePod with an iPad-like display.
On the other hand, there is also a rumored device that will feature far more sophisticated tech as it centers on a robotic arm with an iPad-like display that is ideal for countertops for hands-free operations.
All of these devices, including other rumored ones like a smart home camera, would be running via homeOS, a new operating system reportedly under development for all smart home devices. However, other reports have talked about these developments facing delays, with Apple already postponing the releases to make way for its other developments.
