‘iPhone 18 Fold’ Rumored to be Priced More Than Rivals at $2,300—Tariffs Still Unaccounted For

The future of the iPhone lineup is bright, particularly as analysts and sources have claimed that the foldable version of the smartphone is on its way, and it is now being referred to as the “iPhone 18 Fold.”

The foldable iPhone is said to have been given this name because it will reportedly arrive by next year and join the iPhone 18 lineup. It will also reportedly be the most expensive iPhone released by the company ever.

However, it is not only gearing up to be the priciest iPhone yet, as it is also reportedly trumping the selling prices of its rivals in the foldable market, including Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold.

Apple iPhone 18 Fold Leaks: May Sell Up to $2,300

A leaker called “Instant Digital” has shared a new development for the iPhone 18 Fold on Weibo, and they claim that Apple will charge a premium for its new foldable smartphone once it is released next year.

It was revealed that the iPhone 18 Fold would start at $2,100, but it may be as expensive as $2,300 for its other variant.

It remains unknown why there may be varying prices for the iPhone Fold, but it may be so because of the storage option that Apple may offer. That being said, leakers have not yet addressed if Apple will only offer two options, such as the 512GB and 1TB options, only.

This foldable iPhone is said to have a 5.5-inch outer display and feature a 7.8-inch inner display with an almost 4:3 aspect ratio for its expanded screen, with Apple also reportedly looking to fix the crease issue on foldables.

Apple vs. Foldable Rivals Like Samsung, Google

Apple’s version of the foldable is set to be expensive, and it is pricier compared to its industry rivals like Samsung, which recently sold its latest Galaxy Z Fold 6 starting at $1,899.99, and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which costs $1,799.99.

The iPhone Fold may be treated like the Vision Pro in terms of pricing, but despite this hefty selling price, it is expected that 2026’s iPhone Fold would help the company with its declining sales, as per 9to5Mac.

All About the Apple iPhone Fold

Over the years, there have been many rumors about Apple’s work in the foldable space as the company is looking to also enter the market which Android smartphones have dominated.

While it was not released this year, rumors claimed that Apple’s foldable is set for 2026, and this will mark the first time that Apple will bring a non-standard smartphone in its history.

There are many components that Apple needs to develop for a foldable iPhone, from its inside and outside screens down to its hinges. According to rumors, the Cupertino-based tech giant is working on a liquid metal hinge for the iPhone Fold, and this will ensure “superior” durability for the device.
