Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Is Speculated to Debut By 2026—How Much is the Rumored Cost?

Over the past years, there have been rumors about Apple developing a foldable iPhone for its first foray into this niche smartphone industry, and a new scoop from a well-known source now claims that it may launch in 2026.

Should Apple join the foldable niche with an iPhone next year, it is set to change the landscape and experience for the global audience, particularly as iOS will finally have a contender against Android foldables.

Apple’s 1st Foldable iPhone Rumored to Debut by 2026

Famed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared a new report which details more information about the upcoming first foldable iPhone from Apple, revealing its rumored timeline for its launch. It was revealed by the trusted analyst that Apple may be able to deliver the iPhone with a folding screen by late 2026 or by early 2027.

It was revealed by Kuo that Apple will offer a “book-style” foldable, making it similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series, Google Pixel Fold, and other similar models available in the market.

Moreover, it will feature a 5.5-inch outer display, but when unfolded, it could give users up to 7.8 inches of inner screen, with the analyst claiming that this will feature a “crease-free” design.

How Much Will the Apple Foldable iPhone Cost?

Kuo claimed that price expectations for Apple’s foldable iPhone range from $2,000 to $2,500, which means this may be the most expensive iPhone to date.

It was also reported that Apple will have as much as three to five million units available for its initial launch and then follow it up with a whopping 20 million units by the time its second generation arrives.

There have been previous rumors about Apple working on a foldable smartphone of their own, and over the years, it has been the topic of conversation. One rumor previously said that Apple will deliver the foldable iPhones by 2025, but so far, many analysts and sources have backtracked on this information as they do not expect one to come this year.

What Apple is reportedly working on now is the iPhone 17 Air, which is set to join the main lineup of the company’s flagship smartphones later this year. It was revealed that the iPhone 17 Air would be an experimental device as Apple readies itself to develop a foldable iPhone that will need to be slim at all costs.
