Cultural and language barriers, especially when it comes to TV series and movies, are slowly becoming a thing of the past particularly with the rise of generative AI. Amazon Prime Video, in particular, is now offering AI dubs for select movies and shows.
This feature is meant to be a hybrid one where AI and humans are working together to deliver the experience.
Its latest technology for online content shows how AI can take over and streamline certain processes for an improved experience.
Amazon Prime Video Uses AI to Dub Select Movies, Shows
Amazon shared an announcement that focuses on a new feature for Prime Video, and it leverages its generative AI to help with improving the experience for the streaming platform. The company calls this “AI-aided dubbing,” and it transforms the audio and language of a certain show for viewers to enjoy.
Instead of having to rely on subtitles or wait for audio dubs to be shared by the company, generative AI helps in translating the spoken content.
This new AI-aided dubbing feature is part of the company’s pilot program that centers on various “AI-aided processes” that are coming to the streaming platform.
