Pixel 10 Pro Fold Becomes First Foldable with Full IP68 Protection

Google will launch a revolutionary new addition to its Pixel line. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold will arrive alongside the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro. It’s already generating buzz because of several new features that can potentially redefine the foldable phone market.

First Foldable with IP68 Rating

One of the biggest selling points is its IP68 rating. This places the Pixel 10 Pro Fold into the record books as the first foldable phone to receive this level of water and dust protection. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, for instance, only has an IP48 rating. Vivo’s X Fold 5 offers slightly better protection at IP58/IP59+, but not quite. With IP68, users can have the confidence of a product that’s better shielded when wet or in dirty environments—a huge leap for foldable technology.

Greater Battery and Brighter Screen

Another area where the Pixel 10 Pro Fold shines is battery size. It will come with a 5,015mAh battery, an increase over Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 4,400mAh battery. This should be sufficient to drive the phone’s large screens and fast-performance components for a full day.

Discussing screens, the appearances are not that different from the previous model. The outer screen will be 6.4 inches, and the inner foldable screen will still be 8 inches. But brightness has been greatly enhanced. The inner screen will now go up to as high as 3,000 nits, which is much more convenient to stand under direct sunlight.

Powerful Cameras

Photography will not be left behind. Pixel 10 Pro Fold features 10MP front cameras on both the inner and outer screens. At the back, it features a 48MP main camera, 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. All these camera features will take clean, colorful photos in varying lighting environments.

Next-Gen Performance

Under the hood, the phone will be running Google‘s Tensor G5 processor, based on a 3nm process that brings better efficiency and performance. The phone will come with 16GB of RAM and storage options between 256GB and 1TB.

With its rugged construction, top-of-the-line specs, and new features, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is set to be a solid contender in the market of foldable phones.
