Charging upgrades confirmed for Galaxy S25 FE, Tab S10 Lite lags behind

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 FE is set to deliver a notable upgrade in charging speed compared to last year’s model. Certified by TÜV Rheinland, the device—carrying model number SM-S731—will support up to 45W wired charging. This is a step up from the Galaxy S24 FE, which was capped at 25W.

Interestingly, the standard Galaxy S25 and even the Galaxy S25 Edge will still use the same 25W. That puts the S25 FE on par with the more expensive Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of wired charging capabilities, a move that could give the Fan Edition extra appeal for buyers looking for premium specs without a flagship price.

Although the certification confirms this faster charging, it’s worth noting that, as usual, Samsung is unlikely to include a charger in the box. That’s now standard for the brand, regardless of charging speed support, so users will probably need to buy a compatible 45W adapter separately if they want to take full advantage of the speed.

Galaxy Tab S10 Lite gets modest support

The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, which will launch as the most affordable member of the Tab S10 lineup, did not receive the same level of charging performance. According to the same TÜV Rheinland certification, the tablet will support up to 25W wired charging (9V at 2.77A), whether you buy the Wi-Fi or cellular version.

That’s considerably slower than the 45W charging seen across the rest of the Tab S10 range, including the Tab S10+, Tab S10 Ultra, and even the Tab S10 FE and Tab S10 FE+.

However, the Lite branding suggests this device is targeting a lower price point, and reduced charging speed may be one of the compromises to keep costs down.

There’s some confusion, though. A separate FCC listing recently hinted that the Tab S10 Lite might support 45W charging, contradicting the TÜV information. Until Samsung officially reveals the device, this detail remains unclear.

Launch expected later this year

Both the Galaxy S25 FE and the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite have started clearing regulatory certifications, a strong signal that launch is not far off. Based on past release patterns, these two mid-range models could debut in October 2025.

The S25 FE appears to be getting meaningful improvements over its predecessor, particularly with the faster charging, which brings it in line with Samsung’s top-tier phones. In contrast, the Tab S10 Lite looks to be taking a more conservative approach, aligning more with entry-level expectations.

As we move closer to launch, more information on specs, pricing, and regional availability is likely to surface. For now, charging speed is one of the key differentiators between the two upcoming models.
