Samsung’s Tri-Fold Phone: Big Screen, Powerful Specs, and a Bold New Design

Samsung is set to launch its first tri-folding phone at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, and it’s shaping up to be a major leap in foldable phone technology. A new report has revealed key details about the phone’s screen, camera, battery, and performance, and it sounds impressive.

A Huge, Flexible Display

The standout feature of Samsung’s new phone is its large 10-inch OLED display. Unlike regular foldables that fold once, this phone folds twice, making it more compact when closed and much bigger when open. Samsung is using its latest foldable screen technology, which promises to be very thin, strong, and flexible.

After the Unpacked event, Samsung Display is expected to begin producing these special screens in August, and the final phones will be built in Gumi, South Korea.

The Samsung tri-fold phone will reportedly carry a camera system similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. That means users can expect a 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP 3x zoom camera. A 10MP front camera will also be included for selfies and video calls.

This setup makes the phone suitable for serious photography, not just regular snapshots.

Slim Design, Smaller Battery

An important part of the phone that may be compromised is the battery size.  To keep the phone light and thin, Samsung may reduce the size and capacity of the battery. This means that it may be a bit smaller than what some competitors offer. However, it will still come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite” chip, which should make up for the deficit and deliver top-tier speed and performance.

Limited Launch, Premium Price

Samsung plans to start making the tri-fold phone in September, but only in small numbers at first. It will likely be released in South Korea and China later this year, possibly in the fourth quarter. The phone is expected to be priced at over 4 million Korean won, which is approximately $3,000.

Why This Phone Matters

This new tri-phone shows Samsung is still breaking limits in foldable tech. It is following Huawei as it stunned the world earlier this year with the first-ever triple-folding phone. Even if it doesn’t sell in huge numbers at first, it shows what Samsung can do and where foldables are heading next. Stay tuned for more news from the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, where Samsung will also reveal the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7, which are already available for pre-reservation with discounts.
