Samsung has begun releasing its June 2025 security patch to a wide range of smartphones. The update is now available for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra devices in the US. In addition, the latest patch is also rolling out to other models such as the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy A52s, Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos), and Galaxy XCover6 Pro.

While the Galaxy S21 series is receiving the update in the United States, the rollout is broader for other models. For instance, the Z Flip 5, Fold 5, and XCover6 Pro are getting the patch in parts of Europe. The Galaxy A52s update is also live in selected Asian countries, including Malaysia.

Security improvements and system stability

The June 2025 update is mainly focused on security and device performance. According to Samsung, the patch includes fixes for 36 vulnerabilities that were identified by Google as part of the Android platform. These are integrated into Samsung’s One UI security package, which adds another layer of protection to the system.

The update also comes with 19 of Samsung’s fixes. This is in addition to the Android-related patches. The target of these fixes is to ensure that the software runs better and the device is more stable and secure. However, the company did not list each fix in detail; thus, we can not ascertain what they hold.

Device-specific software versions

Each model receiving the update is tied to a unique software version. For the Galaxy S21 series in the US, the versions are G991USQSGHYF2 (S21), G996USQSGHYF2 (S21 Plus), and G998USQSGHYF2 (S21 Ultra). The Exynos-powered Galaxy S21 FE is getting version G990USQSHHYF4. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 are being updated to F731BXXS5EYF1 and F946BXXS5EYF1, respectively. The A52s receives A528BXXSBGYF1, while the XCover6 Pro gets G736BOXMAFYF1.

How to check for the June 2025 security update

If you use one of these Galaxy phones, you can check whether the June patch is available by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. With this update, the smartphone will be more secure, and it will run smoothly.

Before attempting to update, ensure that your device has a stable internet connection and your battery is charged. In the coming days, the South Korean company will likely expand the rollout to more markets.
