Honor is making a buzz in the smartphone market again. The company is preparing to launch its next-generation foldable phone, the Honor Magic V5. This new device is set to claim the title of the world’s thinnest foldable phone — a title recently taken by OPPO’s Find N5.
Honor Magic V5 Set to Break Records as the World’s Thinnest Foldable Phone
Earlier, the Honor Magic V3 held the record with a thickness of 9.3 mm when folded and 4.35 mm when unfolded. OPPO responded with the Find N5, which improved the design to just 8.9 mm folded and 4.2 mm unfolded.
Now, Honor plans to outdo both models. Company executives hinted that the Magic V5 would surpass the Find N5 in terms of thinness. New promotional posters have confirmed it. The Magic V5 will be only 8.8 mm thick when folded, making it the slimmest foldable phone ever. The thickness when unfolded has not yet been revealed but is expected to be less than 4.2 mm.
Honor Challenges OPPO with Ultra-Thin Magic V5 Foldable
The teaser poster also gives us a first look at the camera setup. The Magic V5 will feature a 50MP main camera, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and an impressive 200MP periscope telephoto camera. This combination suggests strong photography performance, especially for a foldable device.
The Magic V5 will also be remarkably lightweight. Reports say it will weigh under 219 grams. That matches the expected weight of the upcoming vivo X Fold 5, positioning the Magic V5 as one of the lightest in its class.
Despite its slim build, the phone won’t compromise on battery life. The Magic V5 will include a 6,000 mAh battery, the largest ever in a foldable smartphone. It also supports 66W fast charging, allowing users to power up quickly. While wireless charging has not been confirmed, it may offer 50W wireless charging, similar to its predecessor.
Honor will officially launch the Magic V5 on July 2, during a special unveiling event. As the competition in the foldable market intensifies, the Magic V5 looks ready to raise the bar once again — thinner, lighter, and more powerful than ever. We will update you on the features of this upcoming phone in the next few days.
