The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will make its debut in late September during Qualcomm’s Snapdragon summit. So we have just three months of waiting, and we expect the leaks around the CPU to intensify as the launch gets closer. Today, the tipster Digital Chat Station comes with some tidbits around the performance of the new chipset.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 Achieves Impressive Results on Geekbench

Yesterday, the Digital Chat Station revealed some details about Apple’s upcoming A19 Pro chipset. This CPU will be found within the iPhone 17 Pro and the Pro Max. Now, the leaker is bringing some benchmark details for the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and they suggest we are looking at Qualcomm’s most impressive CPU so far.

This might sound obvious, since Qualcomm is trying, every year, to outperform its past chipsets. However, judging by the Geekbench scores, we may see a significant performance increment in this chipset. It allegedly scores over 4,000 in the single-core score and has a multi-core score over 11,000 on Geekbench 6. These scores are notable and way beyond what we currently have in the market.

For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Elite usually reaches around 3,100 in single-core and 9,800 in multi-core. The performance increment in multi-core tasks is here, but the single-core increment is impressive and could result in a noticeable performance upgrade for users.

Interestingly, the Apple A19 Pro is also said to go over 4,000 in the Single-Core tests, but it will be outperformed by the Elite 2 in multi-core, with “just” 10,000. Honestly, these comparisons are more numbers than anything. After all, it’s hard to compare both chipsets since they’ll be running different operating systems.

Compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will bring improvements in the single-core by about 20-30% and the multi-core score by about 10-15%. Once again, the multi-core scores might not be so impressive, but the single-core score upgrade is notable.

As we’ve mentioned above, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will arrive in late September. The A19 Pro will launch in the upcoming iPhones during the same month. Finally, we expect MediaTek to push its launch to September to not lose ground to Qualcomm.
