Apple One, iCloud Subscription Price Hike Now Implemented in Brazil—How About the US?

A new price hike on some of Apple’s subscription plans is now being implemented in Brazil, particularly for the bundled Apple One service that combines several services in a single payment plan and the iCloud+.

As of press time, Apple has not explained why it opted to raise prices in the country. However, the question now is whether Apple would also apply these price changes to other regions, particularly in the United States.

No announcements have been as of writing regarding price hikes in the United States.

Apple One, iCloud Subscription Price Hike in Brazil

Is the Price Hike Coming to the US?

The report revealed that this price increase is speculated to be caused by the devaluation of the Brazilian Real over the years compared to the United States dollar, reflecting its effect on subscription services. Also, it was revealed that there have been local tax increases recently that may be affecting the service.

The iCloud+ price hike was also seen in Chile and Peru. That being said, there are still no changes or announcements for a price hike in the United States for the Apple One or iCloud+.

Apple’s Subscription Services

Apple has quite a list of subscription services available for people who want to get more premium experiences depending on their needs, with subscriptions available for music, streaming, cloud, and more.

There is the separate Apple Music subscription, as well as the Apple TV+, Apple News, Apple Fitness+, and other services that are best enjoyed on Apple devices across different platforms.

However, for users who want an all-in-one subscription for most of these services, they may opt for the Apple One service, which typically bundles Apple Music, Apple TV+, iCloud, Apple Arcade, and more depending on the tier. For the United States and other regions, it is known that Apple also includes their News+ subscription to the Apple One service, but users would have to opt for the Premier tier.

Over the years, Apple has not frequently raised subscriptions and prices of their services, but there have been several adjustments that made these experiences more expensive than their original pricing.

Now that prices have been hiked in Brazil as well as other locations for iCloud+, the question now remains if this would be a global price hike from Apple or is only focused on South America.
