While most of the Redmi fans are waiting for the launch of the Redmi Note 14 series in Bangladesh, Redmi started to tease another device. The new smartphone dubbed Redmi A5 got a quiet launch in the stores around the country. Thanks to people that spotted the device, we have some of its specifications and design.
As you may expect for the A-series, the Redmi A4 5G is a low-end smartphone with modest specifications. However, some highlights make it a decent choice for some users.
Redmi A5 Specifications
The smartphone has a large 6.88-inch with a 120 Hz refresh rate that keeps content and navigation smooth. The downside is the resolution which is just HD+. It has an 8MP selfie camera and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Moving around to the back there is a 32 MP sensor instead of the traditional 50 MP units we see in mid-range smartphones nowadays. Some AI is talking here, but we don’t know exactly what it does.
The phone carries a 5,200 mAh battery with support for 18W charging. Unfortunately, it comes with a 15W charging adapter, so you’ll need to grab another one for the extra 3W.
The processor isn’t confirmed but apparently, it carries the Unisoc T7250. This is an LTE chip with 2 x ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 1.8 GHz and 6x ARM Cortex-A55 clocked at up to 1.6 GHz. We also have a Mali G-57 with 850MHz for graphical tasks. The performance is comparable to the Helio G81 seem on the Redmi A3 Pro. Curiously, this is a step back over the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 inside the Redmi A4 5G which has 5G and more performance. Perhaps, we might see a Redmi A5 5G later this year.
Pricing and Availability
The Redmi A5 sells in two configurations – 4GB/64GB for BDT 11,000 and 6/128GB for BDT 13,000. It is about $90 for the base model and $106 for the higher. The phone sells in Black, Green, Silver, and Blue color options. The actual marketing names are unclear.
The device is available in Bangladesh. We have to wait for availability in other regions.
