Xiaomi is preparing to launch its second electric vehicle, the YU7. New spy photos reveal key details about its design and technology. After the success of the SU7 electric sedan, Xiaomi is now entering the SUV market with a model focused on comfort and innovation.

Xiaomi SU7 : A High-Tech Cockpit Without a Dashboard

One of the most unique features of the YU7 is the lack of a traditional dashboard. Instead, it uses a Panoramic Head-Up Display (PHUD). This system projects driving information onto the windshield, helping drivers keep their eyes on the road.

The center console features an infotainment touchscreen, slightly smaller than the one in the SU7 sedan. Despite its size, it runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS, allowing seamless connection with other Xiaomi devices. Drivers can sync their smartphones, control smart home gadgets, or use entertainment apps with ease.

Stylish Steering Wheel and Smart Controls

The YU7’s steering wheel is designed for both style and function. Wrapped in Alcantara and carbon fiber, it provides a premium feel and strong grip. Its flat-bottom design gives it a sporty touch.

Inside, the YU7 offers a high end experience. Leaked photos show a dual-tone purple and cream leather interior. The driver’s seat includes an electric leg rest for added comfort on long trips. Wireless charging pads and electronic door handles enhance the modern feel.

A roof mounted LiDAR sensor suggests the YU7 will feature advanced autonomous driving. This technology may support hands free highway driving and improved obstacle detection, reinforcing Xiaomi’s focus on innovation.

Sleek Exterior with Aerodynamic Features

While most leaked images focus on the interior, the exterior also impresses. The YU7 has hidden door handles for better aerodynamics, a panoramic sunroof, and a transparent U-shaped taillight. An active rear spoiler improves stability at high speeds.

Performance, Price, and Release Date

The YU7 is expected to have a dual motor all wheel drive system for strong acceleration and handling. It will likely use an 800V electrical architecture, enabling ultra fast charging. With a projected range of over 700 km, it aims to rival top EVs.

Also, Xiaomi plans to launch the YU7 in June 2025. The expected starting price is around RMB 250,000 (€30,800). This makes it an attractive option for buyers looking for a tech-focused luxury SUV at a competitive price.
