iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max to Get Visual Intelligence Soon

The iPhone 15 series is now a year old but still a powerful lineup. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max remain top-tier devices with strong hardware. Despite supporting Apple Intelligence, these models missed out on Visual Intelligence. Now, Apple has confirmed that a future update will bring this feature to them.

What is Visual Intelligence?

Visual Intelligence is a key feature of Apple Intelligence. It lets users point their iPhone camera at objects to identify them in real time. This includes plants, animals, landmarks, and even translating text. It is similar to Google Lens.

Originally, Visual Intelligence was only accessible via the new Camera Control button. This button is exclusive to the iPhone 16 series. Because of this, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max could not use the feature despite having the necessary hardware.

Apple’s Solution: Control Center and Action Button Support

With the launch of the iPhone 16e, Apple found a way to extend Visual Intelligence. It will now be available in the Control Center, iOS’s version of Quick Settings. This allows users to launch it easily.

Apple is also making the feature assignable to the Action Button. This button, available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, is customizable. Users will soon be able to launch Visual Intelligence with a quick press.

When Will the Update Arrive?

Apple representatives confirmed that a software update will enable Visual Intelligence for iPhone 15 Pro models. While no exact date was provided, reports suggest it will come with iOS 18.4. The beta version of iOS 18.4 is expected soon, so the feature could arrive shortly.

Temporary Alternative: Google Lens

Until the update arrives, users can try Google Lens. This tool offers similar object and text recognition. It recently added the Circle to Search feature, making it even more useful.
