YouTube is launching a budget-friendly version of its premium service called YouTube Premium Lite. This plan is for users who want an ad-free experience but find the full YouTube Premium too expensive. After testing last year, the launch is now expected soon. However, it will not be available worldwide immediately.

What We Know About YouTube Premium Lite

According to Bloomberg, this service will first roll out in Australia, Germany, Thailand, and the United States. Surprisingly, the U.S. was not part of the testing phase but will be included in the launch.

This plan is for those who mainly watch videos other than music. Subscribers will enjoy ad-free access to podcasts, tutorials, and general content. However, music videos will still have ads. Unlike the full Premium plan, it will not include YouTube Music Premium.

Features of YouTube Premium Lite

  • Ad-Free Viewing: Watch videos without interruptions.
  • Access to Podcasts and Tutorials: Enjoy content without ads.
  • No YouTube Music Premium: Music videos will still contain ads.
  • Unclear on Other Features: Offline downloads and background playback may not be included.

A More Affordable Option

If you already use Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon Music, this could be a great choice. It lets you watch videos without ads while using another service for music.

However, Google has not revealed the exact price or launch date. It is also unknown if more countries will get access soon.

Final Thoughts

YouTube Premium Lite is a great option for those who want ad-free video streaming without paying for extra music services. It does not offer all the perks of full Premium, but it could be a good alternative for many users.

We are now waiting for Google’s official announcement. The price, availability, and additional details should be revealed soon. If successful, YouTube Premium Lite could expand to more countries and become a popular choice for budget-conscious users.
